The Ladies Pool will be temporarily closed from 10 am tomorrow morning, (Friday 25th July), to allow its edges and steps to be painted white.

The States say the work is specifically designed to improve visibility of the pool edges for users, particularly when the pool is covered by the tide. The pool will reopen to the public once the paint has dried.

The ongoing efforts are part of regular maintenance for the Victorian-era pools, which also includes addressing leaks and other minor repairs.

The Ladies Pool at La Vallette, Guernsey, has been undergoing various restoration efforts this year, including significant work following a public protest.

In February 2025, hundreds of islanders, led by Adrian Sarchet (known as the ‘Sea Donkey’), protested the planned removal of the diving board at the Ladies’ Pool after it failed a health and safety assessment.
