A 71-year-old man has died after suffering a medical incident at the Gents’ Pool at La Vallette.
The medical incident happened on Tuesday afternoon.
Guernsey Police, Fire and Rescue Service, and the Ambulance and Rescue Service were all dispatched to the scene, with paramedics treating the man at the scene before he was taken to hospital.
However, he sadly died shortly after arriving at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, said a spokesperson for Guernsey Police.
“This afternoon (Tuesday 19 August) all three emergency services responded to reports of a medical incident at the men’s pool of the bathing pools,” said the spokesperson.
“A 71-year-old man was given treatment by paramedics at the side of the pool before being transferred to hospital.
“Sadly, the man died shortly after arriving at hospital.
“Officers have been liaising with his family this evening, and we would like to express our condolences to them at this very difficult time.”
