It coincides with the United Kingdom’s national moment of silence.
The public and organisations are invited to participate in the minute of reflection, which has been endorsed by Guernsey’s Bailiff, Richard McMahon.
Mr McMahon said it’s important to show continual support for the people of Ukraine one year on: “I am sure that this demonstration that they are still in our thoughts and prayers will be much appreciated”.
Chief Minister, Deputy Peter Ferbrache labeled the invasion “unlawful” and signaled the continued solidarity of the islands to Ukrainians.
“It is only right that we mark the start of this aggression by taking a moment to remember those who have tragically lost their lives while fighting to defend freedom and democracy.”
At 11am Friday 24th February government buildings across the Bailiwick will observe a one-minute silence to mark the anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Islanders and organisations are also invited to take part in the silence.

Similar events are being held in Alderney and Jersey too.
The islands public buildings will observe the silence, while organisations are encouraged to follow suit.
All flags should remain at full mast.
The Bailiff’s Disaster Relief Fund remains open to channel islanders’ donations to the UK Disasters Emergency Committee which works with aid agencies in Ukraine to assist those affected.
