The accident happened on Longue Hougue Lane, St Sampson’s earlier this afternoon.

A spokesperson for the emergency services said Guernsey Police, Ambulance, and Fire and Rescue Service all responded to the 999 call which was made at around 13:00.

A spokesperson further explained that the collision was between a motorcycle and HGV.

“The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries as a precaution,” they said.

Longue Hougue Lane runs between Bulwer Avenue and Grandes Maison Road.

It has been closed as a public through road since March 2020 when a decision was made to provide more security to Ferryspeed as the covid pandemic took hold on the island.

Notices are positioned at either end of the lane advising motorists that it is for access to buildings only.

As well as Ferryspeed’s depot, other businesses including a signwriters, and a few houses, it is also where the island’s driving test office is based.
