The 24-hour charity gaming marathon returns this year with organisers hoping to surpass its fundraising total from last year.

Guernsey Gaming for Good is in its eleventh-year of putting on events to raise money for local causes and it will host its 18th gaming marathon this month.

This year’s marathon, set to be its biggest yet, will take place on 15 November and feature virtual reality, racing simulators, quizzes and other games over the 24-hours.

Participants will be raising money for the Guernsey Welfare Service and Dementia Friendly Guernsey as they compete between 10:00 on the Saturday and the following morning.

Last year £7,300 was raised for the Men’s Shed, bringing the organisation’s total raised since being founded in 2014 to over £40,000.

James Hookway, Chairperson of Guernsey Gaming for Good, said: “As we come back for our 11th anniversary, we’re reflecting on how far we’ve come and the impact we’ve made in our community.

“This year, with the continued support of the Digital Greenhouse, we’re pulling out all the stops to ensure this marathon is our best yet. We can’t wait to see the community rally together once more to support Guernsey Welfare Services and Dementia Friendly Guernsey.”

The event is closed to the public but anyone can follow the action with a livestream on Twitch, Youtube and Facebook.
