‘Uncontrolled’ environments will include any public space including supermarkets where a record of attendance can’t be kept so a two metre social distance must still be maintained at all times where possible.
Uncontrolled environments which will be allowed to reopen for the first time since lockdown started will include children’s play parks which had until now been out of bounds.

Other environments which can open from tomorrow will include gyms and other sports facilities if they can keep an accurate record of those attending and using each piece of equipment. If they can’t then they must ensure all users maintain a social distance of 2m from anyone outside their own bubble for now.
Supermarkets and other retail outlets will continue to limit the number of people entering, so social distancing can be maintained with one way systems being introduced in some premises.
A distinction is now made between controlled and uncontrolled environments, based on the ability to trace contacts quickly and effectively following a confirmed case of COVID-19.
The decision to allow some businesses to operate with just a one metre social distance comes down to the ability to trace contacts.
Forms have been made available for employers, restaurants, beauty salons and other establishments so they can easily keep records of who they have seen incase of any further positive cases of covid-19.
