Nominations opened on Tuesday morning and will come to a close at 16:00 on Friday, when the full list of candidates will be published.

Deputy Al Brouard, who reportedly camped outside the Royal Court building from 07:00 yesterday morning, was the first to register. He was one of 19 current Deputies who have already confirmed they will seek re-election. 

Some new candidates have also formally announced their plans to run for the office of States Deputy after handing in their forms, whether that be independently or as part of one of the registered parties.

 

A few others are putting themselves back up for election after years out of politics.

 

While some incumbent States Members have also been up to the court to register for re-election.

Among them was Mother of the House, Deputy Mary Lowe. 

The nomination period will come to a close at 16:00 on Friday.
