22 more candidates have been nominated for Guernsey’s general election in June.
Their candidacy forms were handed in today, on the second day of nominations being accepted by the Bailiff’s Chambers.
All candidates must be nominated by 16:00 on Wednesday afternoon.
In 2020, the first island wide poll saw 119 candidates nominated in total, with one withdrawing on medical grounds before the election.
67 have so far been nominated for Guernsey’s second go at electing the States through full island wide voting.
Of those who were nominated on the second day, 12 are sitting deputies, one is a former Deputy seeking re-election, and he and at least three others are current or former parish politicians.
The rest of the candidates nominated today are believed to be political new-comers.
None of the candidates nominated today are affiliated to a political party.
