The resignation was confirmed publicly today but Mr Green notified political members on 31 July.

He recently became a Senior Partner at Collas Crill and the additional responsibilities and time commitments required made him feel as though he couldn’t devote sufficient attention to the public role.

Committee President, Deputy Andrea Dudley-Owen said it “would like to place on record its grateful thanks to Advocate Green for his dedicated service and wise counsel during his time on the Committee since January 2021”.

She added that his promotion “speaks to the exceptional qualities he brought to his role on the Committee”.

Most States committees can internally elect non-voting members, who are not politicians, to attend meetings and make contributions.
