The Albert Pier and the red light arm area closed for parking from 18:00 yesterday evening, until 18:00 today, to facilitate coach excursion operations, walking and cycling tours which are all already sold to capacity.
Island Coachways will also be operating the ‘Guernsey Explorer’ from Stand H at the bus terminus. This is an 85 minute island drive. Highlights include Pembroke bay, The Little Chapel and La Valette bathing Pools.
Brilliance of the Seas is on its inaugural call to St Peter port on a 13 day around the British Isles itinerary, beginning and ending in Amsterdam. She was scheduled to arrive 07:00 this morning and depart at 17:00.
The Royal Princess is making its return call this season.
Meanwhile, cruise liner passengers and other visitors, will enjoy live music on their trips to the island this summer.
Once again the Town Centre Partnership and BATIF Foreign Exchange are working together to provide the musical entertainment. Through its sponsorship with BATIF, Town Centre Partnership is able to pay musicians to provide live music for three hours a day when visitors from larger cruise ships (those carrying more than 3,000 passengers) are expected ashore.
Jack Honeybill from the TCP said it has always been a really successful initiative, “and it has been well received by visiting cruise ship passengers. We are really pleased to have BATIF on-board again”.
