Parkinson’s Guernsey is celebrating six years of supporting people affected by Parkinson’s in the Bailiwick.
A special anniversary event will be held this Thursday 8 October at The Peninsula, with two senior representatives from Cure Parkinson’s invited as special guests.
Helen Matthews, CEO of Cure Parkinson’s, and Sophie Priestley, Head of Philanthropy at Cure Parkinson’s, will give a special talk between 10:40 and 11:40, explaining the charity’s focused work to slow, stop, or reverse Parkinson’s.
They will discuss the challenges involved in trying to cure Parkinson’s, give an overview of Cure Parkinson’s current portfolio of work, and outline the charity’s ambitions for the coming year and beyond.
Cure Parkinson’s is the only UK charity solely dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s.
The event will also be an opportunity for Parkinson’s Guernsey members, friends, supporters and members of the wider community to come together, catch up and celebrate the charity’s six years of work.
The talk is free to attend and open to all, however booking is essential to help manage numbers.
