The Saltpans site would see the most change and is expected to accommodate between 84-154 dwellings. It stands in both St Sampson and the Vale and comprises of a former horticultural site covering about 2.8 hectares.

The guidelines aim to reflect the site’s proximity to the Bridge and the “potential good standard” of access onto La Route du Braye, with an opportunity to relocate on-street parking in the area and improve pedestrian infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the smaller Quantock Cottage site in the L’Islet Local Centre, St Sampson, is anticipated to house 5-8 dwellings across 0.27 hectares of land.
Plans will likely see an existing cottage demolished in order to create a new access road to the site, while improving pedestrian and cycle access to Sandy Lane.

Proposals for development will need to take into account the setting of the nearby L’Islet Dolmen which is a protected monument, as well as potential archaeological interest in the area.
The Development and Planning Authority is inviting comments on the frameworks by email at planning@gov.gg or in writing up until 17:00 on 28 May. You can find copies of the full frameworks here.
If approved, the frameworks will be taken into account when considering development proposals for the two sites.
