A fundraising appeal has been launched for an Alderney farm after the machine at the heart of its handmade ice cream production broke down and was found to be beyond repair.
Kiln Farm has a history of producing fresh milk and handmade ice cream for the island’s community, who it is now turning to for support in raising £26,000 to replace its equipmemt.
Having invested everything to take on Kiln Farm and it’s animals the family running it say that the unexpected cost of a replacement is one they cannot absorb alone.

“When we took on Kiln Farm, we knew we were becoming custodians of something special — a farm with a real history of producing fresh milk and handmade ice cream for our community,” said family member Sarah Langton.
“We’re asking for a little help from the community that has supported Kiln Farm for so many years, so we can keep making fresh, local ice cream for families to enjoy for years to come.”
The appeal is being run on Crowdfunder with every donation going directly towards the purchase of a new machine and the costs of getting it installed and running.
If people are unable to donate, the family have asked that they consider sharing the campaign with family and friends.
The campaign is operating on a “keep what you raise” basis, meaning that every pledge made will be kept by the family for the farm.
The Crowdfunder is live now with a deadline of 16 September 2026.
