The Bailiwick’s marine ambulance has been out four times over three days, picking up six patients in Herm and Sark who all needed hospital treatment in Guernsey.
The Flying Christine III had to go to Sark twice on Thursday for medical calls.
The first call out saw two patients picked up after Sark’s doctor referred them to Guernsey’s hospital for treatment.
The second call out saw two more patients brought back to Guernsey for treatment at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.
Friday night saw the marine ambulance sent to Herm for a patient who also needed hospital treatment.
Saturday night saw a third call out to Sark to pick up another patient who needed to be treated at the PEH’s Emergency Department.
The Ambulance & Rescue service wanted to thank the volunteer crew for responding to the four cases over the past three days.
The Flying Christine III is crewed by volunteers with paramedics travelling onboard to treat the patients.
It is a purpose-designed marine ambulance, funded entirely by donations, fundraising, and public ambulance subscriptions.
The vessel was initially built with public support and recently underwent a refurbishment costing tens of thousands of pounds.
