Bailiwick Law Enforcement confirmed last night that officers were checking this area and other outdoor playgrounds. However, this morning they said that no razor blades were found.
Inspector Karl Zierlinger said in a public statement last night that it was “unfathomable” that anyone would consider causing harm to young children in this way.
He urged people to remain vigilant.
“It is unfathomable as to why anyone would consider doing this and we will do all that we can to identify those responsible for this despicable act, which clearly has the potential to cause serious injury to young children who would be enjoying playing on these areas with their friends,” he said.
Anyone who discovers razor blades at a playground should contact police immediately.
Anyone who has any information should also call Guernsey Police on 725111 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
