The Vale Earth Fair will kick off and round off its 50th anniversary celebrations with a pair of free live music events at the Yacht over the bank holiday weekend.
The annual Warm-Up Gig takes place from 20:00 on Saturday 29 August, followed by the Wind-Down Gig from 20:00 on Monday 31 August, featuring a mix of local, Jersey and UK performers.
Jersey band Hammermaid and local metal act Monolith will headline the warm-up event, while Monday’s line-up includes Its Own Animal, Grant Sharkey and UK act Le Beaubo.
Organisers said the gigs would be a chance to support the local music scene while extending the Vale Earth Fair festivities beyond the main event.
The celebrations begin even earlier with a volunteers’ reunion at Vale Castle from 18:00 on Monday 24 August.
Past and present volunteers, along with former members of the Vale Earth Fair collective, are being invited to share memories and stories from the festival’s five-decade history.
The main Vale Earth Fair takes place on Sunday 30 August, featuring six stages of performers from Guernsey, Jersey, the UK and France.
