2026 Guernsey Arts Emerging Artists Exhibition
The Guernsey Arts Emerging Artists Exhibition celebrates the excellence of local creative education within our colleges and institutes.The team are proud to present a hand-picked selection and look forward to sharing it with you!
The annual student showcase will take place at the George Crossan Gallery in the Inner Market from this Friday the 28th August until the 27th September. Open daily, 9am – 5pm, the gallery offers free admission and is accessible via stairs and lift.

Fox Art Competition 2026: SUBMISSIONS OPEN
Jersey Arts Centre and Guernsey Arts are calling on Channel Island artists from both Bailiwicks to be part of the island-wide Fox Open Art Competition 2026. The Fox Open Art Competition, sponsored by JJ Fox International Ltd, is now in its 44th year of supporting the connection of artists from between the Islands.
Winning and selected artworks will be exhibited at Jersey Arts Centre and The George Crossan Gallery Guernsey.
Each year sees a new judge, chosen from outside the Channel Islands for impartiality. This year’s Judge is Mary Kuper, artist, illustrator, and printmaker, whose work looks at the themes of language and poetry, people and places. Mary will also be hosting a workshop for Island students later in the year. (Mary Kuper – marykuper.com).
This year’s prizes total £2,000 and will be awarded to Channel Island-based artists who, in the opinion of the judge, have produced the most original work of art. This year’s prizes are £1,000 for the overall winner, £500 for the winner of the Jock Russell Award for 12 to 18 year olds and 5 prizes of £100 for 5 highly commended artists.
The competition is open to artists who are resident in the Bailiwick of Jersey, Bailiwick of Guernsey and who are aged 12 and over. Entrants may submit up to two works. Entry costs just £5 for adults and £1 for students.

Vale Earth Fair 2026 – 50th Anniversary
Join the wonderful Vale Earth Fair Collective as they celebrate 50 years of the Vale Earth Fair!
Since 1976 Guernsey’s longest-running music and arts festival has been bringing people together and this year’s golden anniversary promises to be something truly special. Expect a mix of legendary acts making a return to the stages, alongside exciting artists making their first appearance at the Fair.
Taking place at Vale Castle this Sunday 30th August 2026 from midday to midnight, over 50 acts will take to 6 stages around the castle and its grounds.
This year, their annual warm up and wind down events will be taking place at the The Yacht, with Hammermaid (Jersey) and Monolith (Guernsey playing from 8pm on Saturday the 29th, and ts Own Animal, Grant Sharkey and Le Beaubo taking to the stage from 8pm on Monday the 31st of August.

‘Practice makes Permanent’: An exhibition by Cat Lees
The work of Cat Lees takes to the Gatehouse Gallery at Elizabeth College!
Cat is a young, emerging artist who achieved a 1st Class Hons in Fine Art in 2025. She has been GHG artist in residence 2026 and previously won the Guernsey Arts Open exhibition.
Cat’s work will be available to view from Tuesday to Sunday. The gallery opens 10am – 4pm between August 29th and September 6th, and 4:30pm – 6pm between the 8th and 11th of September.
MIRRORBALL SOUL & MOTOWN NIGHT

Doors and bar open at 8pm, ahead of music at 8:30pm. Once again, Northern Soul DJ Andy Newman will be heating up the dancefloor whenever the band isn’t on stage.

St Saviour’s Church Concert Series: The Accidentals
Directed by Marilyn Pugh, the Accidentals choir is recognised as one of Guernsey’s finest mixed voice choirs, with a growing number of local and national competition successes. They sing everything from classical choral to modern pop/rock.
On Friday the 4th of September from 7:30pm, they take to St Saviour’s Church for another fabulous performance! Retiring collection.
