The Guernsey Athletics Club’s annual events sees runners of all abilities taking on the so-called ‘full course’ which is a 4.75mile long route around L’ancresse Common.

Billed as the ‘traditional post Christmas race’, the ‘Full Course’ is a fairly flat one around the perimeter of the common.

It is seen as a fast race for some, with the record standing at 23.02. That time was run by Lee Merrien in November, 2007 with few coming close enough to worry him since. However, younger runners like Ryan Burling and James Priest may put in a good attempt at reaching or beating that time this year, following strong performances in recent months.

The women’s ‘Full Course’ record was set on a previous Boxing Day, with Louise Perrio running the course in 26.47 in 2011.
