A national radio presenter and a Guernsey artist have bonded over a love of Guernsey butter – with Sara Cox now owning a Sarnia Shores dish to keep her butter in.
Gabi Nobes – the creative talent behind Sarnia Shores – told Express that she recently met Sara Cox while on holiday in England.
“I went on a horse riding holiday on Dartmoor with 12 other ladies and Sara was our host. So we ate meals with her everyday and rode horses with her in the group.
“She was really lovely and made sure to ride alongside each of us for a chat. She was very interested in Guernsey and asked me lots of questions.
“I gave her a Guernsey butter at the end of the trip and also one of my own designed butter dishes which is the perfect size, as Guernsey butter blocks are larger than UK ones,” added Gabi.

Having returned home and got back to work designing and producing more products through her Sarnia Shores brand, Gabi was then surprised to be name-dropped on Sara Cox’s Radio 2 show earlier this month
“Sara loved the butter dish I designed,” Gabi said.
More than that, she told the world that she loved it.
“I’ve had a lovely time trotting round Dartmoor on me pony. I came home with double butter, “double butter, double butter, double butter”. One’s magnesium foot butter, which is supposed to be great, and another one is actual butter, because one of the ladies I rode with called Gabi of Guernsey. She travels everywhere with packets of butter in her bag to just hand out, willy nilly…so I came home with some butter. So hi to all the lovely ladies who I rode with!”

Sara later added an “incoming fact about Guernsey butter”.
“Obviously, the cows on Guernsey and Jersey eat all that lovely, lush grass and make beautiful butter, but the blocks of butter in Guernsey are wider than your average block of butter, yes, so you have to have a wider butter dish.
“So Gabi, she’s an artist and she decorated a beautiful Guernsey butter dish and presented it to me with the pack of butter.”
Sara Cox presents the Radio 2 drivetime show on weekdays. She currently has an estimated 6.5million weekly listeners.
