“This represents a significant step forward in our response to Covid-19,” said Vaccine Contact Centre Manager Toni Airley.
“The staff working over the weekend received calls from delighted islanders who were keen to receive the vaccine as soon as possible. Callers were also keen to take the earliest available appointment and were clearly prioritising this over their other commitments.”

The Contact Centre, which is open from 08:00 to 20:00 Monday to Friday and 08:00 to midday on Saturdays and Sundays, received “a steady stream of calls” over the weekend.
In total, 128 people booked their initial vaccination and their second dose six weeks later.
Letters for the remainder of the 75 years-and-over cohort will continue to be sent out in batches this week. Family members are able to book appointments on behalf of people in this cohort if that is easier.
