Le Gallez, the world number 27, has only one player in her group who is ranked higher than she is – Peckham’s Connie Stephens. The group also includes a 14 year old, Laura Killington, and South Korea’s Jeongmin Park.
Wilkins’ group includes Killington’s 16 year old sister, Zoe, a finalist in the 2022 UK Challenge Cup, China’s Lynn Shi and World Women’s Snooker debutant Keerath Bhandaal.
Wilkins, the world number 40, will also compete in the tournament’s Seniors’ Open at the same time. She is seeded second in the Seniors’ Open and has a place in the quarter finals.

Two of the island’s leading men of recent years will also be in national action over the next few days.
Martyn Desperques and Adam Shorto will participate in the latest rounds of The 900 – a new competition for amateurs based largely on the single-frame shoot out format popular in the early days of televised snooker and revived in the professional game in recent years.
The 900 is played at the Crucible Club in Reading. It features 96 players.

Players start in groups of 12.
Desperques’ group includes world number 36 Les Dodd. Shorto’s group includes 2020 shoot out champion Michael Holt.
Nine-times Channel Islands Champion Aaron Canavan has already made it through to the final stages of the tournament in November.
