Sober-curious people and those who have already stopped drinking can enjoy a night of alcohol free fun at a “fresh take on a night out” next month.
The initiative is part of the Count 14 campaign, supported by the Health Improvement Commission, which encourages people to consider their drinking habits in the context of national guidelines for weekly alcohol consumption.
The Sober Supper Club returns to Nutmeg at Victoria Avenue and will see guests treated to an alcohol free drinks tasting and a selection of canapes.
There will also be a talk from Joni Free from Kooky Lifestyle and life coach Paula Jenkins who will share her practical tips for cutting booze.
Andrea Nightingale, Substance Use Lead at the Health Improvement Commission, said a welcoming and sociable space would be created to understand manageable changes which can have big impacts on health and wellbeing.
“It’s exciting to be able to highlight the vast range of alcohol-free options, including sparkling teas and botanical elixirs,” said Ms Free. “I want to bring the best of these brands to Guernsey to complement our fantastic food scene and offer sophisticated, alcohol-free pairing options for everyone to enjoy.”
Ms Jenkins added: “I’m excited to share my journey and show how choosing sobriety marked the beginning of a whole new chapter in my life. I woke up to a world beyond my wildest dreams: more energy, better health, peaceful sleep, and a deep connection to myself. Sobriety didn’t take anything away from me — it gave me everything.”

The event takes place on 4 November from 17:30 to 20:30 and tickets are available online.
