Guernsey’s Driver & Vehicle Licensing team are seeking  “expressions of interest” from individuals keen to apply for a new Accessible Taxi Licence.

They say the initiative is part of an ongoing effort to ensure and enhance accessible transport options for islanders, particularly those who use wheelchairs.

They add that the successful applicant will need to purchase a vehicle that meets DVL’s minimum requirements regarding wheelchair transportation, which is available on request, and that any individuals who would be driving the vehicle would need to apply for a taxi Public Service Vehicle Permit if they do not already hold one. 

They’d also be required undertake a Passenger Assistance Training Course.
