In less than a week Guernsey’s first island-wide AI sprint has passed 1,000 bookings – a month weeks before the first session takes place.

The AI Sprint runs from 1 October until 12 November, offering over 50 free events, including talks, workshops and hackathons for everyone from beginners to digital experts.

Alice Gill, Executive Director of the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce, said: “We set ourselves the target of 1,000 people attending and to have 1,000 bookings already is fantastic.”

Some sessions are fully booked and more are over two thirds full, with demand high for every part of the programme.

Ms Gill added: “There is genuinely something in the programme for everyone, whether you have never opened an AI toll in your life or you sit on a board that needs answers this year.

“Every single session is free, so my advice is: have a look at the programme and book before the one you want fills up!”

It has been organised by Guernsey’s G8, a group of the island’s leading industry bodies, showing that the island is prepared to go “all in” on AI.
