There were gusts of up to 60mph as the storm reached Guernsey, with States Works and tree surgeons responding to multiple call-outs to damage across the island.
One of the most notable victims of last night’s storm was the Crown Pier testing tent, most of which blew into the harbour.
Crane drivers, divers and the Sarnia Workboat have been recovering the debris, with harbour authorities saying the tent was “destroyed” during the strong winds overnight.
There will be further updates on the situation throughout the day, however the States say that everyone with a scheduled test is being contacted with alternative arrangements.

Meanwhile, there have been reports of trees down “all over the island” with Guernsey Police inundated with calls this morning.
“There is a large build up of sand and debris on the west coast which is being cleared,” a spokesperson said.
“We will continue to take calls regarding trees being down.”
Anyone who comes across blocked roads or felled trees that pose a risk to public safety should call the Joint Emergency Services Control Centre on 01481 222222, so the information can be passed on to States Works.
The Emergency Ambulance Service responded to two incidents related to the storm last night. One person was taken to hospital and the other was discharged on scene.
