A TikToker has shared his fascination with Guernsey history with his thousands of followers after a trip to the island.

Luke Knight produces ‘Knight Tales’ and shared clips of the island with his 40,000 online followers after visiting for a friend’s wedding.

He said the island is perfect for history buffs given the German bunkers and museums, and also highlighted the warmth of the locals who guided him around key locations.

Mr Knight also said the sea was the bluest he has ever seen.

“As someone who was a tourist, who had never been there before, you sold this place to me because it was your home and you were proud of it.”

He also praised the local bus service, saying “they were regular, they were on time, they weren’t expensive”.

In response, the Managing Director for Stagecoach South West which operates the bus service, said they were thrilled with the feedback.

“Our team works hard to provide reliable and friendly bus services, and it’s fantastic to see that visitors are noticing,” said Peter Knight. “Guernsey is a beautiful island with so much to offer, and we’re proud to play a part in making it accessible to everyone,” he said.

A spokesperson for Visit Guernsey added: “It’s always fantastic to see visitors fall in love with our island. Luke’s experience captures what so many people feel when they come here – our history, our people, and our incredible scenery make Guernsey a truly special place.”
