The Nature Commission wants to find out just how Guernsey residents interact and engage with our environment through a brand new survey.
The first ‘People and Nature Survey for Guernsey’ opened earlier this week, and is open through until Sunday 23 November.
The Nature Commission said the survey gives islanders aged 16 and above a chance to “reflect on their experiences with nature and share their attitudes and values around nature”.
The survey is available online HERE, with the Commission confirming that the process is completely anonymous.

The survey covers three main areas: ‘Which places you visit and how often’, ‘What activities you do outdoors’, and ‘How you feel about the natural environment in Guernsey’.
It has taken into account the States of Guernsey’s 2020 Strategy for Nature, with its primary goal being ‘Connect our island community with nature’.
The commission says it’ll help tackle this through the People and Nature Survey, which will gather information about the places people are visiting to connect with the natural world, and any activities they are doing outdoors.
Angela Salmon, Head of Operations and Education, said they want as many people as possible taking part.
“This is a chance for people in Guernsey to help the Nature Commission understand how nature fits into their lives.
“We’d also like to hear from people who don’t spend time outdoors so we can understand the reasons why. The results will help guide future decisions about how we care for our environment and support islanders’ wellbeing.”
The survey’s results will be published next year, and those participating can be entered into a prize draw with a chance to win a Guernsey Tour, or a Herm Puffin Patrol kayak trip.
