Bats, moths and stargazing are on the agenda tonight as the Observatory opens its doors.

The David Le Conte Astronomical Observatory will be open for people to explore from 18.30 to 20.30.

The Astronomy Section of La Société will be hosting the open evening together with the Bat and Entomology Sections, in collaboration with Nature Guernsey.

The night will include bat walks, moth traps and looking through telescopes – at least if it’s clear.

This event is free, but donations to help Section costs are welcome and dressing up is optional.

Parking will be at La Houguette School and then signs to follow to the Observatory with torches and high visibility clothing recommended.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
