The defendant (51) pleaded not guilty when she appeared in Court for allegedly stealing £5 worth of fruit and a lemongrass plant valued at £7.50.

As a result of her not guilty plea, a trial has been organised and the woman released on bail.

Her bail conditions include not to visit Marrette de Haut Vinery, where she is alleged to have stolen produce from a hedge veg stand.

She was represented by Advocate David Domaille and will now appear for a pre-trial review on 24 November.
