Families in Guernsey are being given a final reminder they can get free children’s books this weekend.
Over 1,000 free children’s books are on offer this weekend, in celebration of World Book Day and the National Year of Reading.
The Big Book Giveaway is happening from 09:00 to 16:00 at the Constable’s Office in St Peter Port, opposite Boots.
Each child will be able to take a book for free, with options ranging from picture books to young adult fiction.
“Books have the power to spark imagination, build confidence, and open up new worlds,” a spokesperson for organiser Soroptimist International said.
“By giving children the chance to choose and keep a book they love, we hope to nurture a lifelong love of reading,” they concluded.
