GradRoutes Guernsey is hosting a webinar this week to address findings from its ‘Return to Guernsey’ survey.

It’ll primarily focus on housing costs and availability, which 38.2% of surveyed graduates and students recently cited as a reason for not returning back to Guernsey.

During the webinar delegates will be joined by Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller and Deputy Steve Williams, who will discuss their vision for housing and young people.

The free webinar is taking place on Tuesday 19 May from 18.00, with registration available through Eventbrite.

GradRoutes Guernsey surveyed more than 200 graduates and university students as part of its research.

Housing was the most common cause for concern raised, but it wasn’t the only one, with career paths and “social opportunities” also among the reasons that resonated with respondents.

Michelle Morley, Project Lead for GradRoutes Guernsey, said: “GradRoutes Guernsey has a lot of work to do to debunk some of the misconceptions surrounding career paths in Guernsey, however this webinar will focus on one of the other main concerns raised in the survey: the cost and availability of housing.

“We encourage all graduates or current university students to tune in to the online webinar either just to listen or to pose any questions you may have to the Deputies regarding this topic.”
