1. Medical negligence appeal blocked

The Royal Court told a woman she won’t be able to appeal the decision to dismiss her medical negligence claim against MSG.

Susan Cotterill was told she had no real chance of winning and there was no public interest in carrying on.

2. Fibro failures

A woman with the chronic pain condition fibromyalgia has called for more support from the States for people with the condition.

Former civil servant Nicola Durkin said she was bullied at work after her symptoms started, with one manager calling her a “sloth”.

3. Shopping shoplifters

Two Coop stores in Guernsey have started using security guards to scare off shoplifters.

Bosses said shoplifting was “not a victimless crime” and had an effect on staff and businesses.

4. What goes up mustn’t come down

When the latest conflict in the Middle East it pushed up gas and oil costs – which were quickly passed on to consumers in Guernsey through higher prices.

But now a ceasefire’s been announced causing a “slump” in prices, Aurigny and Guernsey Gas have said they won’t be reducing their rates just yet.

5. Time doesn’t heal all wounds

The parents of Guernsey woman who was murdered while travelling have said that time hasn’t healed their wounds.

Sarah Groves’ mum and dad, Vic and Kate, said their “deep love” for their daughter endured.

Guernsey is looking for performers to light up Liberation Day in the tea tent on the Crown Pier.

The stage, which will compliment the main entertainment on the Albert Pier, will be open to everyone from DJs and musicians to theatre troupes and standup comedians.
