1. Letby surprise

A Guernsey-based paediatrician whose evidence helped convict Lucy Letby, said she was “surprised” the former neo-natal nurse wasn’t charged with more crimes.

Letby is already serving 15 life sentences for the murder of seven babies and attempted murder of seven more.

2. Drag me to Download

A Guernsey-born drag artist will play one of the biggest metal festivals in the UK.

Monroe Adams said they were “incredibly excited” to perform at the 23rd Download Festival.

3. Well sporty

A new multimillion-pound sports facility on Victoria Avenue is aiming to become a ‘Social Sports and Wellness District’.

Half of The Rockhouse will focus on social sports, like pickleball, golf and clay pigeon simulators with the other half dedicated to wellness, including pilates.

4. Nothing to report

An independent review into possible links between Covid vaccines and heart complications in people from Guernsey won’t be released.

Health and Social care said the report, which has been linked to the sacking of former consultant cardiologist Dr Dean Patterson, was “not intended for publication”.

5. Heat fan owners pumped

Home owners in Guernsey will be able to install most air source heat pumps without planning permission, after the Development and Planning Authority changed its rules.

Previously, pumps over a metre high and wide or 35cm deep needed permission, but this has been significantly increased.
