As he was transported to police custody, he continued to abuse and threaten officers.
Davies appeared in the Magistrate’s Court this morning before Magistrate Bridget Shaw, where he was sentenced for assaulting a police officer, violently resisting arrest, causing a breach of the peace, maliciously damaging a home, and contempt of court.

He was handed a prison sentence of 11 months, and given a two-year restraining order against his victim in relation to the breach of the peace and malicious damage incidents.
“Spitting in someone’s face is abhorrent in any circumstances but made even worse when directed at a police officer going about his lawful duty during a global pandemic,” said Chief Officer Robin Smith.
“The seriousness of this individual’s actions have clearly been reflected in his sentence and I am confident this will not only reassure officers faced with similar circumstances, but will no doubt act as a deterrent in the future.”
