Liam Michael Carmody, of Doncaster, Yorkshire, is accused of carrying out the alleged attack in the rear car park of the Ambassadeur Hotel on St. Clement’s Coast Road on Thursday 24 March.

Appearing in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, he was also charged with possessing an offensive weapon, a knife.

Relief Magistrate David Le Cornu said the case was too serious to be heard in the Magistrate’s Court and referred it to the Royal Court.

Mr Carmody, who was represented by Advocate Sarah Dale, was remanded in custody until 27 May.
