Hundreds of A-level students have been collecting their results this morning, with each of the island’s post-16 schools recording positive results.
The overall pass rate for the class of 2026 was 98.7% – seeing 25% of students receive results at A* and A, and 79.4% for A* to C passes.
574 Jersey students were entered for 1,610 A Level examinations.
Education Minister Catherine Curtis, said: “I’d like to sincerely congratulate everyone receiving their A-Level and Level 3 qualification results today.
“As you now move towards university, vocational studies, or join the world of work, this is a well-deserved reminder of the hard work and dedication you have shown throughout your studies.
“My thanks also to teachers, support staff, parents, and carers for the valuable and vital role they’ve played in helping you reach this milestone. I wish you all the best of luck for whatever you decide to do next.”
In England, 78.1% were graded at C and above, and 28.3% at the highest grades A/A*. This puts Jersey 1.3% higher than England for passes of C and above.
Hautlieu School
Hautlieu School reported that nearly 80% of grades awarded at A* to C this year.
Kate Blackhall, interim headteacher, said: “We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our parents and families for their unwavering encouragement and support throughout the students’ educational journey. We are also especially grateful to our teaching and support staff, whose commitment, expertise and hard work have played a vital role in helping our students succeed.
“Most importantly, we would like to congratulate all of our students on their excellent results and wish them every success as they take their next steps in education, training or employment. We are extremely proud of all they have accomplished”.
Beaulieu Convent School
A total of 36% of grades achieved at Beaulieu were at A*–A and 60% at A–B. Vocational students also achieved “exceptional” results, with 90% of grades at A–A equivalent and 100% at A–B equivalent.
Matthew Burke, head of Beaulieu School, said: “We are tremendously proud of our students. Results day is always a significant moment, but behind every grade is an individual story – of hard work, determination, challenge and achievement. These are excellent results, but what gives me particular pride is seeing that success across the breadth of the qualifications we offer.
“Students will now progress to an impressively diverse range of courses, including Medicine, Politics, Business, Natural Sciences, Fashion, Paramedic Science, Acting for Stage and Screen, Psychology, Forensic Science and Musical Theatre.
“Their destinations include institutions such as King’s College London, Bristol, Durham, Buckingham, Liverpool, Guildford and Edinburgh, alongside further study or employment in other destinations on and off Island”.
Victoria College
At Victoria College, 12% of students attained a grade A*, 30% A*-A, 56% A-B, and 81% A-C.
A total of 30% of students received a “grade profile” including at least 3 A*s or As, and 10% of the cohort attained at least 2 A*s in their grade profile.
These results are provisional as some may change due to reviews and retakes, the college noted.
Headteacher Dr Gareth Hughes said: “I am delighted for this year’s Upper Sixth students and enormously proud of all they have accomplished. Their time at Victoria College has been defined by determination, resilience and a willingness to embrace challenge.
“The results they receive today are the product of sustained hard work over many years and are thoroughly deserved. These students have led by example, supported one another and played a full part in the rich life of the school. They leave Victoria College as capable, confident and compassionate young people, ready to make their mark on the world”.
De La Salle College
More than 25% of all grades achieved at De La Salle were in the highest performance bracket – seeing the overall pass rate increased higher than last year’s “strong performance”.
Jason Turner, Head of College, said: “I would like to congratulate all of our boys, many of whom not only achieved their personal best but surpassed their own expectations. Their success is a testament to their dedication and determination.
“I am incredibly proud of everyone at De La Salle. Our students, staff and families have risen admirably to every challenge and worked together to create these excellent outcomes. Today is a day of celebration, and every sixth-former who gave his very best should take great pride in what he has accomplished.
“These results demonstrate the strength of the De La Salle community and the ambition, character and potential of our young men. We look forward to seeing them build on this success as they take the next steps in their educational journeys”.
Highlands College (Level 3 Diplomas)
A total of 99% of Level 3 Sixth Form students passed their professional and technical qualifications at Highlands College, at the same level as A-Levels.
90% of students have already secured progression into employment, university, or are continuing programmes at the college.
Vice-principal, Kate Hobbs said: “We are delighted to celebrate another year of excellent outcomes for our students. Their achievements are the result of hard work, determination and a willingness to embrace new challenges.
“At Highlands College, we are committed to helping every student reach their potential,
and it is rewarding to see so many progressing to exciting opportunities in higher
education, apprenticeships and employment. We congratulate all our students and look
forward to seeing what they achieve next”.
Jersey College for Girls
Jersey College for Girls celebrated another year of “exceptional” outcomes, with students achieving a 100% pass rate and 70% of all grades awarded at A* to B and 92% A*- C.
The college’s “value-added performance” which is the measurement of progress from GCSE to A-Level, places JCG within the top 25% of schools across the UK, the school said.
Principal Carl Howarth said: “Today is a celebration not only of academic success, but of the character, resilience and confidence our young women have developed. We congratulate every student on their achievements and wish them every success and happiness as they take their next steps.
“Our students will now progress to an impressive range of destinations, including leading universities, careers with Jersey’s foremost employers, and other exciting opportunities across Jersey, the UK and beyond.
“The college also paid tribute to the dedication of its teaching and support staff, and to the encouragement provided by parents and carers throughout the students’ educational journey. These achievements are the result of a collective effort”.
