This summer, he’ll be heading to Australia for the Commonwealth Games to represent the Bailiwick.
He’ll be fighting under the Sarnian flag then, but he’ll have the support of all the islands after proving his popularity at this year’s Channel Islands Sports Award.

Mr Le Poullain beat Guernsey athlete Cameron Chalmers, Jersey BMX rider Alex Coleborn and Jersey archer Lucy O’Sullivan to be named Sports Personality of the Year after winning the public vote.
Having spent eleven years training hard, he has his eye on the Gold Coast and is busy preparing for the Commonwealth Games.
During the Gala event at Beau Sejour, Guernsey athlete Alastair Chalmers was recognised as The PraxisIFM Rising Star. The award for the Source Recruitment Coach of the Year went to Chris Griffiths for his work with Guernsey Ladies Rugby.

The Jersey Reds team were also awarded for their achievements with The Waves Team of the Year Award.
Two special awards were also presented. British special gymnastics champion Alex Buesnel received the Michael Lucas Sporting Hero Award, Alex is the first gymnast with learning difficulties to make Jersey’s Island Games Squad. And the Judges’ Award for Achievement went to Jersey netballer Serena Guthrie.
