The Amity Singers are a chamber choir singing lots of different genres, from the 16th century to present day music.
Elizabeth Farnon is the current choir director after taking over from her husband John, having retired from teaching music at Beaulieu.

She commented: “The music moves from the sadness of the Cross to the joy and hope of Easter. There will be reading from actress Cathy Sara…and our pieces include Mascagni’s magnificent and rousing ‘Easter Hymn’ with soprano soloist Karen Spencer.. and a movement from Racmaninoff’s ‘Vespers’ with alto soloist Judy Egré.”
“There are also some lively spirituals. Most of our pieces are unaccompanied – but a few need piano or organ and Francis Murton has kindly agreed to come along and play for us.”
The choir has added that they will be collecting for the Bailiff’s Ukraine Disaster Appeal.
