The Guernsey Chamber Choir will be performing at the iconic Sagrada Família later this month.
22 members of the Choir will be heading to Barcelona for their performance on 25 May.
The Choir will also be performing at Montserrat Abbey, Barcelona Cathedral, and the Basilica de Mercè during their tour of the Spanish city which starts on Saturday 23 May.

Before they leave for the continent, the Choir will be performing at St Joseph’s Church, giving a local audience the chance to hear them first.
Led by Helen Grand, the Guernsey Chamber Choir is an invitation only choir which brings together singers from across the Bailiwick.
It first performed in 1982 in Guernsey and, since then, the Chamber Choir has continued to develop and attain greater achievements and recognition, she said.

“Twenty-two members will be performing in Montserrat Abbey, Barcelona Cathedral, the Basilica de Mercè, and Gaudi’s breathtaking Sagrada Família,” she explained.
“The largest unfinished Catholic church in the world, Sagrada Família, is a UNESCO World Heritage site designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi and has taken over 140 years to build! This year is the centenary of Gaudi’s death and the choir feels both honoured and privileged to be giving a concert there during this celebratory and significant year.
“Before we leave for Barcelona, we will be performing a pre-tour concert, on Friday 15 May at 6.30p.m at St Joseph’s Church – a chance to hear in advance some of the programme we will be singing in these magnificent sacred spaces.
“As you can imagine, we are all very excited including the Bailiff who is a member of the Choir!”

Friday’s concert in Guernsey is free to attend, with a retiring collection in aid of St Joseph’s Church and the Guernsey Chamber Choir itself.
