Charity quiz night

Local charity Focus of Mental Illness is hosting a charity quiz night this Friday 3 October at Hotel Ambassadeur from 18:30 until 21:00.
The funds raised will help improve the lives of islanders affected by severe mental illness and their families.
Teams can be made up of four to six participants, with individual tickets available for those wanting to join an existing team.
A raffle will also be held on the night, with tickets available to buy upon arrival for a chance to win some exciting prizes.
Tickets are £25, which includes a quiz entry fee and a meal, with vegan and vegetarian options available.

“Ay Up It’s Standup”

Stand-up comedian Adam Flood will be taking to the stage at Jersey Arts Centre on Friday 3 October with his show ‘Ay Up It’s Standup’.
The show is described as a “stand-up odyssey about reinvention and secret identities with a few tricks up its sleeve”.
The event is open to those aged 16 and above and starts at 20:00.
Tickets are priced between £10.50 and £18, with student and member discounts available.

Black butter market music

This weekend will see the return of the Black Butter Market hosted by The National Trust for Jersey.
The event is taking place at The Elms in St Mary’s on Saturday 4 October from 10:00 until 16:00.
Live music will be played in the courtyard throughout the day, with local band Parish 13 scheduled to play from 15:00.
The market is free to attend, and parking will be available at Granite Products in St Peter’s Valley, with shuttle buses available to and from the site.
Attendees can expect homemade sausages and cider, wood-fired pizza and homemade cakes, and activities for children.

Thrifty for fifty

St Helier Town Hall will be transformed into a charity pop-up shop this Sunday 5 October.
The event, hosted Jersey Hospice, is free to attend and will run from 10:00 until 14:00.
Stock from the charity’s various shops across the island will be on sale on the day, with the majority of items available for as little as 50p.
