Various local charities are set to benefit from Easter-themed events this weekend – including crafty competitions, hilarious performances, and an appearance from Dave the Donkey.
Every week, Express presents a selection of exhibitions, performances, workshops, events and other historic, creative and delicious content to help islanders get their weekly dose of culture.
Here’s this week’s offering…
It’s LEGO time

One of Jersey’s youngest charity ambassadors is hosting a crafty fundraiser this weekend in aid of a local food charity.
Seven-year-old Ophelia Goldsborough is inviting all keen LEGO builders to a dedicated competition at Colleen’s Cafe at Grève de Lecq this Saturday 19 April in aid of Caring Cooks of Jersey, which promotes healthy eating and prevents food poverty.
Parents are encouraged to bring their children along to take part. Entries will be judged by Ophelia and prizes will be awarded to the top three Lego builders.
She hopes more money will be raised by selling homemade items – such as phone stick-ons, bracelets, bag tags and key rings.
Easter Fair
An elderly support charity is hosting its Easter Fair this Saturday 19 April at Rondel Farm.
Age Concern Jersey is inviting islanders to its Trinity charity shop to meet the Easter Bunny and Dave the Donkey while raising money for elderly people.
Guests will be able to purchase sweet treats, get their face painted and take part in a raffle from 10:00 to 16:00.
The charity shop and other businesses at Rondel’s Farm will remain open as usual.
Satire on Saturday
This Saturday 19 April is your last chance to witness the hilariously popular production of The Unfriend by Steven Moffat at the Jersey Arts Centre.
Presented by local amateur dramatics group, TC Productions, the satirical West-End comedy has been directed by Debbie Taylor.
It follows the misfortunes of a British couple on holiday in the USA when they befriend a lusty, Trump-loving widow.
Audience members will be able to donate to mental health charity, Samaritans Jersey, during the evening.
The performance begins at 19:30. More information and tickets can be found here.

It’s your last chance to grab your place at La Mare Wine Estate’s Easter excitement this Saturday 19 April.
From 11:00 to 13:00, the vineyard is offering an afternoon of fun in “Hop and Hunt” event, where youngsters and their parents can enjoy a raft of Easter-themed activities.
Participants can expect a meet-and-greet with the Easter Bunny, soft play, arts and crafts, an Easter lunchbox, and an Easter Bunny Trail with a special chocolate treat.
