Retro gramophone
Prepare for a night of music with a twist as five-piece jazz band Retro Gramphone return to the Jersey Arts Centre for ‘A Vintage Twist’.
Audiences can enjoy two nights of unique compositions on Friday 31 May and Saturday 1 June as the musicians pair contemporary music with the jazz-inspired feel of the early twentieth century.
The first evening’s performance begins at 19:30, and the second night commences at 18:00.

Classic romance
Witness a rendition of one of the most famous romance stories of all time as the Jersey Gilbert and Sullivan Society presents My Fair Lady.
Performing at Les Quennevais School on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 May, the cast will present the unlikely tale of Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle, based on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion.
Directed by Michelle Parker and John Shield the amateur actors and musicians will take to the stage at 19:30 on the Friday evening followed by a Saturday matinee performance at 14:30.
Learn to lindy hop
If you were inspired by the twentieth-century dancing on Liberation Day, a local lindy hop group is offering islanders the opportunity to get involved.
A free taster class is taking place at Trinity Parish Hall on Saturday 31 May from 16:00 to 17:00.

Craft Market

More handmade crafts will be on sale at the latest Crafty Ouens market.
Locally made items from knitting to wax melts and candles, greetings cards, quilts and jewellery will be on display at St Ouen’s Parish Hall from 09:00 to 16:00.
Fresh fruit and veg will also be for sale and a fundraising games table will be raising money for The Jersey Hedgehog Preservation Group.
Skin
A biographical work written and performed by a Jersey-based artist takes place at Capital House over the weekend.
‘Skin’ follows the life of Teddy Ngema and his experiences moving from Kenya to the island and the possibility of starting again
Supported by ArtHouse Jersey, performances will take place from Friday 30 to Saturday 31 May at 19:30.
The event forms part of the arts charity’s ‘Structures & Memory (a place called Wurzach)’ programme which considers the themes of displacement, occupation and reconciliation, following the 80th anniversary of the Jersey’s Liberation.
