Jersey is set for a weekend full of community spirit, local flavour, and vibrant celebrations as the Fête de St Hélier returns to the heart of town this weekend.

Every week, Express presents a selection of exhibitions, performances, workshops, events and other historic, creative and delicious content to help islanders get their weekly dose of culture.

Fête de St Hélier

The Fête de St Hélier returns to the Town Centre on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July.

The annual event marks St Helier’s day and is celebration of the capital’s patron Saint, Helier.

The event is free and will feature funfair rides, local stalls, food and drink, live music, and much more.

Genuine Jersey Artisans’ Markets

A new series Genuine Jersey Artisans’ Markets are taking place across Jersey this summer.

The next one will take places at the Seaside Café in Greve De Lecq on Sunday 20 July.

The stalls will be open from 10:00 to 16:00, and feature arts and produce that have been made, grown, reared or caught in Jersey.

Rag Trade at Reg’s Garden

Rag Trade is holding events to give away free clothing and household items at Reg’s Garden this summer.

Clothes, household items, plants, and lots of other items will be available free of charge – but donations are encouraged.

Events will take place each Saturday in July and August from 10:00 to 15:00.

Chateaubriand Night

A local wine estate is hosting an evening of indulgence tonight with a Chateaubriand dinner in the heart of the vineyard.

La Mare Wine Estate will serve a dinner centring around a 32oz serving of tender beef and all the trimmings on Friday 18 July.

The night costs £85 for two people, or £125 for three.

Drum and bass event

The “next chapter in Jersey’s ever-growing drum and bass scene” is taking place at Zarco’s nightclub from 10:00 until 02:00 on Saturday 19 July.

The event will feature DJs such as Upgrade, Sonny, Gatehouse, and more.
