If you’re searching for a way to end half-term with a bang, then you’re in luck, as various local creatives, world-class performers and young budding stars are preparing for another jam-packed weekend of events.

In’thread’ible expression

Catch the final weekend of Jersey College for Girl’s creative exhibition, ‘Threads of Expression’, in Jersey Art Centre’s Berni gallery.

Using mixed-media and visual storytelling, the exhibition features creative and experimental fashion, textile and art techniques, all curated by GCSE and A level students at the school.

‘Threads of Expression’ concluded it’s three-week run this Saturday 22 February, so don’t miss out.

An iconic night

Head to the Royal Yacht Hotel this Saturday 22 February to witness one of the world’s most iconic DJs.

Grammy award nominee Sasha, who is also a four-time International Dance Music Awards and DJ Awards winner, will headline a three-hour electronic set in !CON!C ‘Hotel Clubbing’.

Organised by TogetherParties, Jersey’s own Craig Alder, Simon Gasston, and Warren Le Sueur will warm-up the dancefloor as support from 20:00.

Waste not, want not

Jersey’s expert repairers and restorers will be on-hand to mend Islanders bits and bobs this Saturday 22 February in St Brelade’s Parish Hall.

All broken items, from electronics, clothing, jewellery, furniture and bikes can be mended for free from 09:30 until 13:00, sparing items from landfill.

Local musicians, Colin Lever, Foolish Things and G<2>A will be providing entertainment throughout.

Showcasing originals

Witness some incredible original music from Jersey’s songwriters this Sunday 23 February with their latest Songwriters Showcase.

Taking place at The Troubadour pub from 14:00, five local artists including Dennisson, Piers Alexander, Jimi Shark, Ross Edgar and Barry James, will present their hard work.

The event is free of charge.

A slice of the West End

Experience some of the West Ends favourite numbers for one night only this Friday 21 February, with the latest West End Experience Showcase.

Throughout half-term, budding young performers have been trained by top West End performers in intensive workshops, all in preparation for the show.

The performance will include songs, dance numbers and acting scenes from some of the world’s most popular musicals, which the young cast have learnt in just one week.

The performance starts at 19:00 at Haute Vallée School and is supported by Jersey Opera House. You can purchase tickets here.
