Every weekend, Express presents a selection of exhibitions, performances, workshops and more to help islanders get their weekly dose of culture.

Here’s this week’s offering…

Havre des Pas Seaside Festival

Three music areas, an inflatable obstacle course, a human foosball zone, and food and drinks stalls are all set to feature at a popular annual seaside festival this weekend.

The Havre des Pas Seaside Festival will take place from midday this Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July.

Tickets cost £3 per day or £5 for the weekend and will be available at the door only. Children under 10 go free.

The festival is open until 10pm on Saturday and 9pm on Sunday.

Hola Friday!

After-work summer evenings will be soundtracked by a line-up of local DJs every Friday at the IFC 2 site adjacent to Trenton Square.

Hola Friday! takes place each Friday from 5pm to 7pm until 21 August.

The free after-work event features food and refreshments from Cooper & Co, The Loft, and the Alfresco Events Pimm’s truck.

On Friday 31 July, Ibiza favourite Doctor Feelgood will play an extended set until 8.30pm.

No booking is required, although attendees are reminded that bringing their own alcohol is not permitted under the event permit.

Farm Fun Day

La Ferme Farm Fun Day will take place this Saturday 25 July at La Ferme Farm in St Martin in support of RNLI Jersey and the Jersey Child Care Trust.

Visitors are invited to enjoy a family-friendly day featuring tractor rides, an animal corner, Jersey cows, live music, food and game stalls, classic cars, Jersey Dairy ice cream, farm machinery displays, a straw castle and more.

Tickets are £10 for adults and free for kids. Last entry is at 4pm.

Free parking is available or the site can be accessed via the number 3 bus.

Extinction

A new trail is on display at Jersey Zoo this summer, featuring 20 extinct animal sculptures made out of colourful toy bricks. 

The Extinction trail can be viewed at the Trinity site from 17 July to 31 August. 

Islanders are invited to come face-to-face with fascinating creatures, including a 3.5-metre-tall woolly mammoth, a hissing titanoboa, a dodo, and a giganthopithecus.

Jersey Zoo guests can also purchase a brick to help complete a print by local artist Lauren Radley.

There will also be the opportunity for one lucky visitor to take the dodo sculpture home through a raffle. Tickets can be purchased at the Jersey Zoo visitor centre, gift shop or charity shop for £5 each.

The Extinction trail is accessible with standard zoo admission, which is free for members.

Full Bloom launch

Islanders are invited to the launch of Full Bloom.

The solo exhibition by Jersey artist Danny Booth opens on Thursday 30 July at 5.30pm.

It is located at Capital House in St Helier.

Danny’s work is inspired by the changing seasons, featuring the artist’s largest collection of new paintings and sculptures.

The pieces were created through ArtHouse Jersey’s New Work Programme.

Full Bloom will be open until Sunday 30 August.
