Vraiqu’sie Exhibition

A new exhibition at the restored Military Hospital at Elizabeth Castle is celebrating Jersey’s historic seaweed-harvesting traditions through film, sound, textiles, song, and sculpture.

Produced by The Moving Arts Collective with Jersey Heritage and Société Jersiaise, the exhibition, which was created by six artists, explores the practice of ‘vraicking’.

The exhibition is running until 31 October 2026, centering on a film offemale seaweed gatherers, including textile art, costume, drawings, and Jèrriais songs.

Islanders are invited to an exclusive visit to the tea farm of the Jersey Tea Company, with a guided tour, tasting and presentation.

The afternoon will be hosted by The Atlantic Hotel this Saturday, celebrating local produce and seasonality.

It is £55 per person to attend, and more information and tickets are available here.
