Every weekend, Express presents a selection of exhibitions, performances, workshops and more to help islanders get their weekly dose of culture.
Here’s this week’s offering…
Velvet Vibrations – Frequencies for the Sea

‘Velvet Vibrations – Frequencies for the Sea’ is a live performance bringing together artists, poets, dancers, musicians, filmmakers and environmental advocates from Jersey and around the world.
Founded in Jersey, the international artistic and environmental movement utilises creative collaboration to foster conversations around ocean conservation, climate action, and sustainability.
The free public event taking place this weekend invites Islanders to experience a live performance celebrating the sea and highlighting the role art can play in inspiring environmental awareness.
It will also showcase the work of local creatives alongside international collaborators as part of a community-led initiative.
The performance will take place at Plémont Bay from 10am on Saturday 11 July.
Islanders can find out more about the event here.
Out There 2026

Out-There festival returns to Val de la Mare reservoir this weekend.
From 3.30pm to 11.30pm on Saturday 4 July, the valley will be transformed into an electronic music festival with three immersive arenas.
The one-day event will feature headliners such as Patrick Topping, Hybrid Minds, LF System and K Motionz.
Festivalgoers can also expect a range of street food vendors and full bar facilities.
The event is open to those aged 18 and over, with a valid photo ID required. Last entry is 6pm.
Islanders can find out more about the event and purchase the final remaining tickets here.
Hola Friday!

After-work summer evenings will be soundtracked by a line-up of local DJs every Friday at the IFC 2 site adjacent to Trenton Square.
Hola Friday! returns for an eight-week stint from Friday 3 July to Friday 21 August, from 5pm to 7pm.
The free after-work event also features food and refreshments from Cooper & Co, The Loft, and the Alfresco Events Pimm’s truck.
On Friday 31 July, Ibiza favourite Doctor Feelgood will play an extended set until 8.30pm.
No booking is required, although attendees are reminded that bringing their own alcohol is not permitted under the event permit.

Open Farm Day – Jersey Zoo

Islanders can get a behind-the-scenes look at one of Jersey’s most unusual farms during an open day at Jersey Zoo this weekend.
From 11am to 1pm on Sunday 5 July, visitors will have the chance to tour Jersey Zoo’s farm, where a team of growers cultivate more than 60 varieties of fruit and vegetables to feed the zoo’s endangered animals.
The farm produces everything from kale and lettuce to guava, goji berries and prickly pear using organic growing principles and compost.
Food prepared using ingredients grown or produced on site will also be on offer.
Organisers hope the event will encourage greater appreciation of regenerative farming, local food systems, and the work of Jersey’s growers and producers.
The event is open to all, but advance booking is required. Directions will be sent after a place has been reserved.
