Louise Carson recently commissioned local artist Vince Talcone to create the image of her beloved Milo on her Garden Lane property, which overlooks a route used by schoolchildren heading to Rouge Bouillon.
She explained that she wanted a piece that would engage passers by, and recalled being fond of a ceramic cat and bird sculpture she used to notice on a different school route when she was a child.
“I’ve always wanted to do something [like that],” she said, adding that she hoped the mural would bring “a little bit of happiness for the kids who are trudging to school”.

The artwork was completed with spray paint in less than a day.
Mr Talcone explained that he was commissioned by Ms Carson after doing a mural for one of her friends.
“The idea was to have something that would make an impact and engage with people passing by,” he said.
“Nowadays this type of work is very popular,” he added.
