Popular coffee shop Bean Around the World is set to open a new coffee roasting and retail shop in the Central Market.
The new ”artisan coffee roastery” will sell tea blends and other products to complement the long-established coffee shop on Halkett Place.
Bean Around the World successfully applied for a unit in the market following presentations from several businesses.
Its new operation will open in Units 73-74 & 80, adjacent to La Bottega, facing Specsavers for a nine-year lease.
Managing director David Stokes said: “We’re excited at the news that we have been granted ministerial approval to bring our new eco-friendly electric coffee roaster to the Central Market.
“We started roasting coffee in 1996 when we first opened so it will be great to be able to showcase what we do right in front of the public.
“We will be focusing on the coffee roasting and a retail shop. Of course we will be serving a range of our drinks too.”
