They said that they received reports this morning of two “suspicious men” driving a white Ford Transit van.
The men were said to have knocked on islanders’ doors, asking to fix their aerials – but the homeowners had not requested such a service.
Police are now urging islanders to keep their eyes peeled for the apparent aerial fix fraudsters, writing on social media: “PLEASE DON’T LET THEM IN TO YOUR HOUSE!! THEY ARE UP TO NO GOOD!!”
“If you have booked for tradespersons, please ask for ID before allowing them in,” they advised.
